Jimmy McCracklin

1958. This record is a bit out of sync in respects to my previous posts, but I have the record and may as well put it up. It was one of the records in John Lennon's portable jukebox.

Jimmy Newman

Another Jimmy C Newman 45 for y'all. This one reached #2 on the country charts in April 1957, and would have been number one that week if it wasn't for Ferlin Husky's "Gone". I personally prefer this record this Ferlin's. One month later, neither of them could compete with Elvis' "All Shook Up".

Johnnie & Jack (RCA EPA 4053)

Johnnie Wright was born in 1914 and is still alive. He is the husband of Kitty Wells. Jack died in a car accident in 1963. You can read about Johnnie and Jack here: CMT Jonnie & Jack

This EP was issued in July 1957, with a cover sleeve that I didn't get with the record.

Cager Rose (1st post)

All I know about Cager Rose is that he died in 1965 here in Minnesota, and was buried at Fort Snelling, which means he was in the military at some point in his life. The obit in Billboard also states that he had just returned from a tour with Red Foley. He wrote both of these songs.

Jimmy Newman

I guess it wasn't until later that Jimmy put the "C" in his name and went Cajun. This is from 1959. Jimmy wrote this one, but I think George Jones had a bigger hit with it.
