Country & Western Hits Nashville Style

This is a drugstore compilation of covers of popular country songs of the 1960s. It's so budget, they don't even list the names (or stage names) of the people singing. I wonder if they even paid them? Would you record a song for free, if you knew people would be listening to you in their living rooms? I might.

I'm gonna wager that this record was put out in 1964, because a lot of these songs were hits (for the original artists) in 1963.

The catalog # is MS508. In parenthesis is the artist who had the "hit" with the song.

1. Don't Let Me Cross Over (Carl Butler & Pearl)
2. Not What I Had In Mind (George Jones)
3. Lonesome 7-7203 (Hawkshaw Hawkins)
4. Still (Bill Anderson)
5. Act Naturally (Buck Owens)
6. We Must Have Been Out Of Our Minds (George Jones & Melba Montgomery)
7. Roll Muddy River (Wilburn Brothers)
8. Take a Letter Miss Gray (Justin Tubb)
9. Six Days on The Road (Dave Dudley)
10. Ring of Fire (Cash)

Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum melody

I just came across an old Rockabilly record, and it sounded familiar to me for some reason. Took me about 40 seconds more to realize it was the same riff that Bob Dylan used in his 2001 song "Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum". Have a listen.
