The Singing Burches

Someone has written on the paper sleeve that this group was from Sandstone, Minnesota. Not sure where they got that information.

Gaity owner David Hersk email:

"I was going out of town and my mom set up the recording date.  Since I was not there Joe Beck (who had American Recording Company on Washburn Ave. South) did the recording and Kay Bank mastered and pressed it.  I had forgotten all about it, It must have been 1956 or 57."

This disc has the same transparent blue vinyl as the very valuable Blue Kats 45.

Wes Holly

Pretty much everything you ever wanted to know about Wes Holly:

The 45rpm single for "Hop Rock" has shown up on ebay a lot lately.  Unplayed copies that seem to be bootleg reproductions, but I am not sure.  It could be that someone found a box of new old stock somewhere.  I have one and it sounds ok.

Gene Bavart

"To Herb Williams.  A swell guy in appreciation for all he done for our Estacada kids."

Herb Williams was an 8th grade math teacher in the Estacada school district from 1955-1975.

Alfred Eugene Bavart registered the copywrite to "Baby, He's A Long Time Gone" in 1952. The SJW Wakefield pressing number indicates 1964 as the year, if Malcolm Chapman's research is correct.

Bobby Fischer and the String Kings

I'm very confident this was recorded by Fredlo Studio.  Releases that coincided with this one were pressed by Kay Bank, but this record shows no KB markings.  The dead wax reads: F#6312.  Looks like the name Robbi came from one of the artists kids.

Rose 78rpm set

I have four records that I think might have been part of a set.  No artists names, so it's definitely budget drug store stuff,  covers of popular country hits.  Disc 2 is in poor condition, so the audio from it is not as good as the others.  24 tracks in all.
