is this the same Gene Woods as "Heartbreaks Come On In" Dawn 45 - 6022/ 6023 Which was reissued on a maple tone CD 403 "Crusin Country, Vol.2" http://rcs-discography.com/rcs/comp.php?key=3806 & a country teen rocker. If so anybody share a label shot, date of issue & Dawn label location(maybe (TX)? Thanks

"How Big a Fool," according to Praguefrank's Country Music Discographies, was recorded by Woods early in 1960. Woods co-wrote the song with Houston 'Buck' Turner, who was a member of the Dixieland Drifters from Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Dixieland Drifters also recorded for Hap Records.

According to the liner notes to Cruisin' Country 2 Gene was a Cleveland, Tennessee native. So it's probably the same cat.

It's not the same Gene Woods. The Gene Woods that recorded "Heartbreaks Come On In" is my dad. He was actually born in Blue Goose, TN (outside of Lexington, which is outside of Jackson) and currently lives in Paducah, KY. He only released two singles -- "Heartbreaks Come On In" on the Dawn label b/w "Gossip" and "How Many Miles Am I Out Of My Mind" a few years later on the Mallard Records Label (which was owned by Guy Drake of "Welfare Cadillac" fame.) I'll see if I can find my copy of the Dawn release and if so will share the info.
