The Cackle Sisters

Thanks to Bob with help in correctly identifying this record.  Apparently not the Dezurik Sisters, as I had thought.  Who knows why the artists on this record would use the same name.  Not the first time a reader has corrected me.  Sorry that I jumped the gun here.

From 1960 in the Starday custom series, out of Jonesboro, Arkanas. See Billboard 31 Dec. 1960.

According to the same Billboard issue : "The Cackle Sisters, Mary and Cathy, heard on Station KBTM, Jonesboro, Ark., the last two and a half years,..."

In my opinion, they are not the DeZurik Sisters.

Thanks Bob for the info. I have revised the post. I feel like I should be emailing you before I post a record, so that you can help me avoid mistakes like this one. If you are up to it, send me an email to discuss.

Thanks I had planned on added them to the SCP rockhall discussion, but just never got around to it. Lots of work to do and sometimes it feels like its just me.

Someday I'll have a complete collection of SCP and would love to do a post. Would be awesome if Bear Family or someone had a complete box set. I would lay down the cash to own it. For now we'll have to settle for ebay audio.

I am Cathy's grand daughter, and I really don't appreciate the comment about my grandmother and sister using the same name as the DeZurik Sisters. Maybe they got the name from my grandmother and sister. My family had played on the Grand Ole Opry for years and had their own recording studio in Jonesboro, Ar where many star's came to record their music.

The Mar Kay label? Did that stand for Mary and Cathy?
