Johnny & Duane

1956 University Avenue is only one block from 1936 University Avenue, where North Star was. Two record companies within a block of each other. Pretty cool. 1956 address is now a temp agency, and 1936 is a parking lot.

Looked this one up in my Minnesota Rocked!! book and it says the catalog # is 2002. Obviously a mistake, which makes me question the rest of the info in that book. I've also found other errors, mostly misspelled artist names.

Hep 2003
Year: 1958

Can't find that book on the internet. Where can I find a copy?

it was published in 2000 By Barry K. John
Suite A122, 4131 N 24th ASt.
Phoenix Arizona 85016
Telephone (480) 443-2514
his website was www.recordguide45.com
on Oregon lithoprint
www.oregonlitho.com
as a price guide it is slightly out of date but around 600 a4 pages of most records you will ever need. Ifyou find a copy let me know mines falling to bits with use.
I got mine from bim bam records But sounds that swing did have them in stock in the UK

In 1965 I worked with Bud Auge who was one of the owners of Hep records and a song writer. One of his songs was The Violet and a Rose. We would go back stage to sell his songs. He went up to Hank Snow and offered him a handful of peanuts and siad Hank this is your pay. Hank cussed at us and told us to move on.
